The Junior contest is also smaller in the number of  countries that are going to participate, not only because of the contestants’ age.

Only sixteen countries are going to take part into the 2017 contest. This means that we lost one country, in 2016 seventeen countries took part. This is because Israel and Bulgaria have withdrawn, but Portugal has returned to the Junior Eurovision.

We will also have huge changes at this year’s contest. The on-line voting will be used for the first time in Eurovision. The JESC final will take part the next 26th November (Sunday), so the on-line voting will start two days before (Friday) and will end at 15:59 (CET) in Sunday.

To vote, the audience will have to see a recap of the 16 competing entries. Then, the voter will be able to see 1 minute of the live rehearshals. Each voter can vote once (we suppose this because the IP of the device will be registered).

There will be a second voting round after the 16 live performances at the final. The voters will be able to vote during 15 minutes. This two-round result will be combined, and will give the 50% of the points (it’s like a kind of Televoting). The other 50% is going to be decided by the juries.
